Propane tanks, large or small, such as camp fuel canisters, create a risk to our facility and should never be placed in your trash or recycling. They can be dangerous for both personnel and equipment. Seemingly empty containers can still cause issues. Please take advantage of propane tank swap-outs and recycling programs offered by retailers.
Currently, DSWR is unaware of vendors who will actively take propane tanks of standard for disposal without a swap-out of standard sizes,
Some Vendors may be able to assist with larger tank disposal (100 Pounds and above). You can also check with vendors listed in the Yellow Pages under Gas-Propane.
