Electronics Recycling

At our 9031 Reichs Ford Road site in Frederick, electronics brought through the main entrance for recycling incur a fee of $0.69 per 20 pounds of material being dropped off, if paid by cash or check. If paid by Visa, Mastercard, or Discover, the fee is $0.76 per 20 pounds of electronics being recycled. Electronics can also be brought to the Citizen's Convenience Center for a flat rate of $7.60. (Electronics are not taken to the recycling drop-off center.)
Please note: residents and commercial haulers are limited to recycling ten (10) televisions and/or computer monitors, including “All-in-One” computers, per calendar year.  (Note: This limit does not apply to tablets and laptops.)  If a resident or commercial hauler has reached their limit, they may dispose of additional televisions and monitors as solid waste at the same fee scale.

  • all computer components and accessories, including:
    • Cables and cords
    • Calculators
    • Circuit boards, chips, cards
    • CPU towers
    • Game systems
    • Hard drives*
    • Keyboards and mice
    • Monitors & televisions (10 per year)
    • POS systems
    • Power supplies, computer batteries
    • Routers and network hubs
  • Cameras
  • CD players
  • Cell phones/telephones
  • Copiers, scanners, and printers
  • Digital music players (iPods, etc.)
  • DVD/Blu-ray and VCR players           
  • Fax machines
  • Modems
  • Radios
  • Stereos and tape players
  • Video game controllers
  • Microwave ovens
*Note: We are unable to provide a certificate of destruction for secure data.
