Program Dates:

December 20th 2025 through January 31st 2026

What is Live Christmas Tree Recycling?

It's the ultimate in re-gifting - give us your cut Christmas tree, and we'll turn it into mulch or compost, perfect for recycling back into local landscapes!

Please remove all tinsel, ornaments, lights, tree stands, plastic ties, etc., before bringing your natural, cut tree for recycling at our Reichs Ford Road facility.

(Frederick County does not provide curbside collection of Christmas trees, but many municipalities and homeowners' associations do; please inquire with your local town or HOA office for information.)

How to Drop Off A Christmas Tree At Our Reichs Ford Road Facility:

  • Live Christmas Trees can be brought  Monday-Saturday 7 AM-4:30 PM (closed Dec. 25th and January 1st)
  • Residential customers may bring Christmas trees loose and free of the items above to our Recycle Center yard waste drop-off at no cost, along with up to Five(5) 30-Gallon paper bags of Yard Waste.
