Covid-19 Facility Impact:
The Department of Solid Waste Management facilities (transfer station, Citizens’ Convenience Center, recycling drop-off center, yard waste drop-off) are OPEN to the public, operating on the normal schedule, Monday - Saturday, 7am - 4:30pm.
However, administrative offices remain closed for any walk-in business.
At this time all transactions must be paid by credit card or check, no cash payments.
All customers must wear a mask/face covering or practice social distancing while on site.
The Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management operates the Reichs Ford Road Sanitary Landfill, Transfer Station and Recycling Drop-Off Center, which are accessible to businesses and residents for processing waste generated within Frederick County only.
All waste disposal transactions require a driver's license.
For customers with an out-of-county driver's license, proof of the address in Frederick County where waste was generated is required (such as a utility bill, tax bill, lease agreement, etc.)
All customers without an existing account must pay for transactions at time of service.
Acceptable forms of payment are personal/business checks, cashiers check, money order, cash, Discover, Visa, or Master Cards.
