The Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board was established in 1978 and is comprised of 5 members serving staggered five-year terms. The members of the Board are appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council. The Board serves in an advisory capacity; to assist Ag Preservation staff in reviewing requests of property owners of land under easement; to advise the Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation concerning Frederick County’s priorities for agricultural preservation; and to promote preservation of agricultural land within the County by offering information and assistance to farmers with respect to the purchase of easements.

Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board meetings are open to the public and are held on the 4th Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Winchester Hall (12 E. Church St., Frederick, MD).
