
FREDERICK, Md. – Beginning Monday, August 4, 2025, the Frederick County Division of Planning and Permitting and the Treasury Department will close the lobby at 30 North Market Street to walk-in traffic until further notice.
The drive-through window will remain open for the below public services and operations. All other services will continue to be available on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through remote or online options.
- Development Review & Planning: All services and processes will continue as usual. Customers can use the County’s online portal for plan and permit submittal, processing, and tracking: FrederickCountyMD.gov/ApplicationPortal. For assistance, contact the Department of Development Review and Planning at PlanningandZoning@FrederickCountyMD.gov or 301-600-1138.
- Treasury Department: All services and processes will continue as usual. Tax, water and sewer, and other Treasury payments can be made at the drive-through window or online at FrederickCountyMD.gov/Treasury. Paper documents requiring stamps for recordation tax will be accepted via a drop off service at the drive-through window. Abstractors may continue to use SimpliFile to process documents online. In-person meetings with County staff may be scheduled by appointment if the matter cannot be handled remotely. Limited parking is available onsite with additional parking on nearby streets and in garages.
