Changes to traffic control at the intersection of Old Frederick Road and Devilbiss Bridge Road are planned for October 1, 2025.
Currently, vehicles on Devilbiss Bridge Road are required to stop and vehicles on Old Frederick Road are not required to stop. Starting October 1, new stop signs will be added, and all four legs of the intersection will be required to stop.
A review of traffic conditions and vehicle conflicts showed that stop signs on Old Frederick Road are needed to improve safety at the intersection.
Maryland driving law states that at intersections with 4-way stop signs, the vehicle arriving first may proceed through the intersection after making a full stop at the stop sign. If more than one vehicle arrives at the same time, drivers must yield to the vehicle to the right. For additional information, contact David Olney 301-600-2930 or DOlney@FrederickCountyMD.gov.
