[ARCHIVED] Mountville Road One Lane Closure

Current Road Closures

FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering announced today that Mountville Road will be on a one lane closure on or about October 11, 2023. This closure will allow contractors, Highland Turf, Inc. and GeoStabilization International to repair and stabilize unstable road embankments along two sections of Mountville Road.

The project is anticipated to last approximately two months, weather permitting.  The work includes maintenance of traffic, removal and installation of new guardrails, minor grading, installation of a soil nail shotcrete wall, pavement repair and resurfacing, and erosion and sediment control.

Due to the restrictive geometry of the one lane closure, no combination vehicles over 30 feet long and no wide loads are permitted during this closure. A signed detour route will be in place during the one lane closure.

For additional information, contact Project Manager Elbert Maravilla, Office of Transportation Engineering, at 301-600-3511 or via email at EMaravilla@FrederickCountyMD.gov, or Program Manager Brad Fisher, Office of Construction Inspection, at 240-674-6820 or via email at BFisher3@FrederickCountyMD.gov.
