Let MET Generations bring the arts to life for Golden Agers!
The Maryland Ensemble Theatre is partnering with the Frederick County Senior Services Division to offer drama classes and workshops at all four senior centers. The program, called “MET Generations Theatre for the Golden Agers,” will run through next June and feature a grand finale of senior theatre performances at the MET.
“We’re very excited to offer this exceptional opportunity for older adults who may have acted in high school or college, enjoy attending theatre, or have always had a desire to perform,” commented Division Director Kathy Schey. “As added incentive to join in the fun, there will be no memorizing of lines, as the plays are performed with scripts in hand.”
Maryland Ensemble Theatre’s professional staff of artists will work with seniors as they audition for a play, go through a rehearsal process, discover their character, explore acting techniques, finesse storytelling and conclude with a full production. Each theatre troupe will perform two public performances for family and friends at the end of the class.
