County Executive Jan Gardner today announced that the Lake Linganore Dredging Project is moving forward on schedule to ultimately restore water depths in the upper portion of the lake by removing up to 350,000 cubic yards of sediment. The lake serves as a major water supply for The City of Frederick and as a back-up supply for Frederick County.
As part of her emphasis on an open and transparent government, Executive Gardner announced that the Dredging Project design process is completed through the final stages and permitting. In addition, the bid phase and contractor selection will occur in the next three months.
“This is an excellent example of county government working together with the city and our citizens on a major water-supply project that has long-term benefits for the community,” commented Executive Gardner. “I especially want to thank our staff and the contractors for the careful planning and execution of the Lake Linganore Dredging Project, keeping it on schedule as we work toward improvements to the Lake.”
