County Executive Jan Gardner today joined with Interfaith Housing Alliance, Inc., (IHA) and PIRHL to celebrate the groundbreaking for an exciting new workforce housing apartment community at 520 N. Market Street. This initiative will transform a former school and office building, previously owned by Frederick County Government, into a modern residential rental property for young professionals, seniors and families.
Fifty-three of the 59 apartments will target households earning between $20,000 and $60,000 annually. The building is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and employment, and will add new vibrancy and activity to this part of North Market Street.
