At her public information briefing, Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner announced TransIT Services of Frederick County’s recognition as the Initiative of the Year from the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition’s (GWRCCC) Fourth Annual Awards. The annual award ceremony was comprised of eight different categories – from Fleet Manager of the Year to Initiative of the Year.
TransIT won Initiative of the Year for implementing five fully-electric refurbished buses into the fleet and for installing ten charging stations. The project won for playing a key role in successfully implementing a significant and complex alternative fuels challenge during the past year.
