Drivers responsible for snow removal in Frederick County and The City of Frederick will participate in the annual Snow Roadeo from 7:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, at The Great Frederick Fair fairgrounds. The event features competitions simulating obstacles that may occur during snow removal operations.
Guest speakers include: Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner, Mayor Randy McClement of The City of Frederick and Director Chuck Nipe of the Frederick County Division of Public Works.
The Snow Roadeo will also feature Meteorologist Chris Strong of the National Weather Service’s Baltimore-Washington office, who represents the agency from which millions rely on forecasts on a daily basis and who has a flair for communicating scientific messages in layman’s terms. Mr. Strong will speak after lunch and before the awards ceremony at the Snow Roadeo.
