Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner invites the public to the third open house town-hall style meeting on a project which allows Interfaith Housing Alliance, Inc., and PIRHL to purchase the vacant county-owned property at 520 North Market Street, Frederick, Md., for the purposes of creating workforce housing.
The town hall will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, in the first floor hearing room of Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick, Md. In case of inclement weather, the town hall will be held on February 17.
Recently, Executive Gardner announced that the workforce housing initiative had been accepted for a $15 million tax equity program award through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development -- a key funding piece to allowing IHA and PIRHL to purchase the property.
“I encourage residents to come to this town hall meeting to hear the latest details about the state award that will move this project forward,” said Executive Gardner. “We are excited to collaborate with Interfaith Housing Alliance to transform a well-loved city icon into a mixed income housing development right in the heart of downtown Frederick, thus helping to revitalize that area.”
