The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering advises the public there has been a change to the beam delivery schedule for the new Boyers Mill Road Bridge over Lake Linganore. The contractor, Concrete General, will be delivering and erecting the final beams and demobilizing the erection equipment at the new bridge site, weekdays only, from Monday, August 10, 2015, through Friday, August 14, 2015, weather permitting.
The most significant delays are anticipated along Boyers Mill Road and a signed detour will be in effect. Deliveries of the beams are to include a police escort, a 197-foot long beam truck, and trailing pilot cars that will be operating as a “moving roadblock” along the permitted route and major delays are to be expected. The beam trucks are to be routed from I-70 to MD 75 to MD 144 to Boyers Mill Road to the bridge site.
It is strongly advised for area residents to plan their trips accordingly to allow adequate time to reach their destinations. We request residents to be patient while we complete this crucial yet critical phase of the project in order to facilitate the construction of the new Boyers Mill Road Bridge over Lake Linganore.
