[ARCHIVED] Ijamsville Road to Remain Closed for Reconstruction Project

The closure will allow contractor Richard F. Kline, Inc. to reconstruct the existing roadway from 1000 feet north of Ball Road to Prices Distillery Road.

Also included in the work is the construction of a retaining wall between the stream and Ijamsville Road near the Prices Distillery Road intersection.

Ijamsville Road, Contract A, as originally planned (MD 80 to 1000 feet north of Ball Road), is now complete and Ijamsville Road is open to traffic from MD Rt. 80 to Ball Road. The project has been extended to include improvements up to Prices Distillery Road. The extension was made possible due to recent progress in right-of-way acquisitions.

Construction on the Contract A Extension will begin on or about November 19, 2012 and will last until the Spring/Summer of 2013, weather permitting.

A detour route will be in place during the road closure. The detour route will utilize Prices Distillery Road to MD Rt. 80.

Department staff has notified emergency personnel and school agencies.
