FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick County Government announced today the opening of the first application period for the Frederick FEED Grant Program. In partnership with the Community Foundation of Frederick County, this program will strengthen food distribution efforts in the community.
The Frederick FEED Grant Program is open to existing food banks, pantries, religious organizations, and nonprofits that provide food, groceries, backpack food programs, or hot meals to people within Frederick County. Applicants must demonstrate a need for funding, and submit a project description, budget, and organizational documentation.
Grants may be used to expand food distribution efforts, general operating support for food related initiatives, administrative overhead directly tied to food service delivery, and capital purchases such as refrigerators, freezer, and food storage.
Grants will be awarded through a competitive process managed by the Community Foundation. Applications will be reviewed on an individual basis to provide funds that are essential for meeting the demand in the community.
Applicants must apply for the first round of funding by December 21. A second round of funding is expected to open in early 2026. To learn more about eligibility requirements or to apply, visit www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/FEED.
