FREDERICK, Md. – Members of the community are invited to attend County Executive Jessica Fitzwater’s annual Legislative Town Hall on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street in Frederick.
This annual meeting provides an opportunity for members of the public to shape Frederick County’s legislative priorities for the upcoming 2026 Session of the Maryland General Assembly.
“The work our state representatives do in Annapolis each year impacts each of our daily lives and the future of Frederick County,” said County Executive Jessica Fitzwater. “I urge residents to share their ideas on what legislation Frederick County should prioritize in the 2026 legislative session.”
Last year’s legislative priorities focused on transportation, health, safety standards, streamlining government processes, and increased school funding. Information about past years’ legislative packages, the legislative calendar, and legislative proposals submitted by the public can be found at FrederickCountyMD.gov/Legislative.
For those attending in person, several Frederick County Transit options serve Winchester Hall. The 51 and 61 Connectors serve Market Street and Church Street, less than two blocks from Winchester Hall. The 40, 50, 60, and 65 Connectors, and the Brunswick/Jefferson, North Frederick, and Emmitsburg/Thurmont Shuttles operate nearby.
