[ARCHIVED] New Traffic Control at Intersection of Boyers Mill Road and Pinehurst Drive

FREDERICK, Md. – The Division of Public Works, Traffic and Permit Section, announced today that, in the interest of improving operations at the intersection and due to anticipated winter weather events, changes to traffic control at the intersection of Pinehurst Drive and Boyers Mill Road have been implemented earlier today.  The existing stop sign at Pinehurst Drive and free flow traffic control for Boyers Mill Road has been replaced with a full-color signalized intersection.  All three legs of the intersection are now controlled by portable traffic signals.

Implementing this change ahead of schedule was considered necessary to address limited sight distance, which coupled with anticipated weather conditions later this week, would have presented unacceptable conditions for road users.  The new signals will provide traffic control to improve conditions for Pinehurst residents entering Boyers Mill Road.
