FREDERICK, Md – Frederick County Government offices will be closed on Monday, November 11 for Veterans Day. County offices and services will return to regular hours on Tuesday, November 12.
Clarifications to the holiday schedule:
- Animal Control: Administrative office will be closed and kennels will be closed for adoptions on Monday, November 11. Animal Control Officers will be on routine duty, call 301-600-1544. For emergency situations, call 301-600-1603 or visit www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/animalcontrol.

- Department of Social Services: Office will be closed. For further details, call 1-800-332-6347 or visit www.dhs.maryland.gov.
- Division of Solid Waste and Recycling: Reichs Ford Road Facility, including Transfer Station, Yard Waste Drop Off, and Recycling Center, will be closed on Monday, November 11. As a result of this closure, a holiday slide of curbside recycling will take place, pushing collection one day from a resident’s typically scheduled day.
- Health Department: The following divisions will be closed: Administration (includes birth and death certificate services), Behavioral Health Services, Community Health Services (includes WIC services), Environmental Health Services, Health Care Connection & Preparedness (includes health insurance enrollment services), Mental Health Services, and the Dental clinic. The following divisions will be open: Infants & Toddlers Program, School-based Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, and School Health Services. - Frederick County Public Libraries: Libraries will be closed Sunday, November 10 and Monday, November 11. Curbside pickup and telephone reference will not be available. For further details, call 301-600-1630 or visit www.fcpl.org.
- Frederick County Courts and State’s Attorney’s Office: District and Circuit Courts will be closed.
- Transit: Transit office will be closed, and all Transit services will be canceled on Monday, November 11. MARC Train will operate on the "R" schedule and the MDOT MTA Commuter Bus service will be operate on the "S" schedule.
