[ARCHIVED] Portals to Be Installed at Utica and Loy’s Station Covered Bridges

A metal structure alerts tall vehicles if they can fit inside a covered bridge.

The Utica and Loy’s Station covered bridges will have portals installed that are similar to this one leading to the Roddy Road Covered Bridge.

 

FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick County Division of Public Works will be installing height restriction portals at Utica and Loy’s Station covered bridges during the month of April. Closure of the bridges will be in place each day that construction will take place between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., weather permitting. Each bridge will require approximately two working days for portal installation. A signed detour will be in place. For additional information, contact Chaslyn Derexson at 301-600-1585.
