FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick County Office for Children and Families wants to hear from families with young children, who are not yet in kindergarten, on ways to improve the childcare system. In collaboration with the research team conducting the Frederick County Child Care Market Study, a second Community Information and Input Session will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 7-8:15 p.m. to share preliminary information from the study and get community ideas on solutions.
This second session is specifically designed for families with young children, including those impacted by non-traditional work hours. All Frederick County residents interested in childcare are welcome to attend. Interpretation in ASL and Spanish will be offered. A third session focused on Employers and Businesses is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 8- 9:15 a.m. Interpretation in ASL and Spanish will be offered. Participants must register in advance at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/ChildCareBusinesses.
The Frederick County Office for Children and Families has contracted with Public Policy Associates and Solomon Evaluation to conduct the Child Care Market Study. The study is funded by an American Rescue Plan Act grant, and the findings from the study will be used to look at solutions to improve equitable access to high quality childcare.
