[ARCHIVED] National Weather Service Issues FLOOD WATCH until Feb. 12, 12:00 a.m.

Heavy rain may lead to flooding of streams and some rivers.  High water may also develop in low-lying and poor drainage  areas. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Visit www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/roadsclosed for a listing of local closures.

Emergency officials warn drivers to never try to cross a flooded road under any circumstances. If you see a flooded road warning sign remember, "turn around, don't drown."
