[ARCHIVED] Child Advocacy Center Receives Facility Dog from Canine Companions for Independence

The Frederick County Child Advocacy Center announced that the center is a proud recipient of a facility dog named “Hodge” from Canine Companions for Independence – a national non-profit organization providing assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities.

“We are delighted to be selected to receive the first highly trained assistance dog in Maryland to serve children who have experienced abuse,” said Center Director Lynn Davis. “Hodge is a very welcome member of our family. He has the disposition to work with children and to make a difference in their recovery. We appreciate the generosity of the Canine Companions’ donors in providing this exceptional dog to the county.”
