[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Knoxville/New Addition Force Main Break Repaired - Water Usage May Return to Normal

The Frederick County Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management (DUSWM) has repaired the force main damage reported earlier that was caused by a contractor, and it was placed back in service at approximately 3:40 p.m. today.

Crews currently are involved with restoration associated with the excavated area of the repair.

The officials appreciate help from residents in the Knoxville and New Addition areas, who were originally asked to temporarily curtail water usage to help aid containment of the sewage spill so as to facilitate repairs. Water usage can return to normal, according to DUSWM officials.

Residents who would like additional information or who have questions may contact the division at 301-600-1825.
