To prevent cruelty, abuse and neglect of animals in Frederick County by enforcing all state, county and city ordinances. We shelter homeless animals and place them in safe and loving home environments. We educate the public on all animal issues, to foster a more aware and caring community.
~PLEASE EXCUSE OUR MESS~
On March 6, 2025, Frederick County Animal Control & Pet Adoption Center will begin a total renovation and expansion of the shelter. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026, and we are excited for the changes the new facility will offer our shelter residents as well as the citizens of Frederick County. During this time, animals will still be available for adoption and essential services will continue as normal. Due to limited space, shelter tours and other educational programs at the shelter will be discontinued until construction is completed.
