Become a Family Law Clinic Intern!

Interns play a vital role in supporting the programs and services offered by the Family Law Clinic in the Frederick County Circuit Court. The Family Law Clinic provides free legal assistance to unrepresented litigants with divorce, custody, and child support legal issues. Opportunities range from direct interaction with pro se litigants to administrative support with in-house staff. Your contribution can make a meaningful impact. 

Internship Opportunities 

Internships are offered year round for college students majoring in disciplines such as Paralegal Studies, Social Work, Legal Studies, or other individuals with a legal background interested in gaining Family Law Clinic experience. Internships are non-paid positions.

Intern Requirements

  • High school graduation or the equivalent.
  • Applicants must pass a Maryland Judiciary background check.
  • Applications must be available to work a minimum of two days per week, Monday through Friday, between 10:00am and 3:00pm. A minimum of four hours per day is required. No telework is offered for internship positions.
