Current and Recent Amendments

The Division of Planning and Permitting is responsible for reviewing applications for zoning map amendments or what is commonly referred to as a rezoning.  Two public hearings are involved in this process. The first hearing is before the Frederick County Planning Commission, which makes a recommendation to the County Council. The second hearing is before the County Council, which makes a final decision.
