For emergency after hours inquiries or complaints, please contact the Frederick County Emergency Communications Center at 301-600-1603 and the on-call Fire Marshal will be paged.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is responsible for conducting preventive inspections of all places of assembly, educational facilities, summer camps, all municipal buildings, businesses, certain state licensed facilities, and other occupancies allowed under the Frederick County Fire Prevention Code and Maryland State Fire Prevention Code. The office is also responsible for conducting investigations into the origin and cause of all fires, explosions, hazardous materials releases, and other hazardous conditions.
The office of the Fire Marshal investigates all complaints relating to fire, life safety, and other code violations.
