[ARCHIVED] Frederick County Government Services Closed on Veterans Day

FREDERICK, Md. –  Frederick County Government offices will be closed on Thursday, November 11, for the Veterans Day Holiday. Services will resume at their regularly scheduled times on Friday, November 12. 


Additional information related to the holiday schedule

  1. Animal Control remains closed to the public. Details: 301-600-1603 or visit
  2. Board of Elections will be closed.  Details: 301-600-VOTE (8683) or
  3. Department of Social Services All offices will be closed. Details: visit
  4. Health Department All divisions and programs are closed except for those that are school-based. The following programs will be open: School Health, Infants & Toddlers Program, School-based Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. Details: call 301-600-1029 or visit
  5. The Landfill and the Reichs Ford Road Recycling Center will be closed and all recycling collections for the remainder of the week will shift one day later than the normal schedule.  Details:  Office of Recycling at 301-600-2960 or visit
  6. Frederick County Public Libraries will be closed on Thursday. Virtual resources and services are still available 24/7 at
  7. TransIT Services: The TransIT office will be closed. Connector and Shuttle service will operate on a regular schedule. There will be no peak-hour Connector service. TransIT-plus service will not operate. MARC Train will operate on a holiday “R” schedule and MDOT MTA Commuter Bus service will not operate. Details: call 301-600-2065 or visit
  8. Frederick County Courts and State’s Attorney’s Office: District and Circuit Courts are closed. State’s Attorney’s offices will also be closed.
