REMINDER: Application Period Opens June 7
for Nonprofit Bounce Back Grants

FREDERICK, Md. –Applications for the Frederick County Nonprofit Bounce Back Grant Program open on Monday, June 7, at 8 a.m. Executive Jan Gardner launched the grant program to support local nonprofit organizations that experienced economic impacts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Frederick County will provide $858,620 in direct aid to eligible nonprofits.

“We are blessed in Frederick County to have so many nonprofits who have stepped up to lend a helping hand to those in need during the pandemic,” Executive Gardner said at her May 27th announcement of the grants. “Now it is time for us to return the favor, by providing much-needed support to our nonprofit community.”

Frederick County’s Citizens Services Division will administer the program. Funding for the program comes from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.

Grants will be awarded in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. Agencies must demonstrate that their ability to provide programs or services was affected by the pandemic or related circumstances. Examples of economic impact could include revenue gaps or shortfalls, and increased expenses. Funds may be used toward salary and wages, inventory, rent and utilities, marketing, technology, contracted services, insurance, program expenses, and COVID-related items such as personal protective equipment. Grantees must spend all their awarded funds by Dec. 31, 2021.

To be eligible, nonprofits must be a 501(c)(3) organization with a physical location/address in Frederick County, and a majority of their client base must be Frederick County residents. Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. Monday, June 7, through 4 p.m. Monday, June 21 at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/BounceBack. Eligibility requirements, application instructions, and answers to frequently asked questions also can be found at that website. Questions about eligibility criteria or required documentation can be sent to Kelli Goetz at kgoetz1@frederickcountymd.gov.
