Jump Start Outdoor Dining Heater Grants are designed to provide financial assistance to licensed Frederick County food and beverage providers impacted negatively by restrictions on indoor dining capacity as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency and which have added, expanded or maintain socially distanced outdoor seating space that is heated by propane gas heaters. Businesses have incurred and will continue to incur additional expenses to acquire propane gas heaters and associated propane fuel tanks needed to operate the gas heaters. Grant amounts are based upon the outdoor seating square footage size.
1. Operators with up to 800 square feet outdoor dining space
$2,700 in one-time funds
2. Operators with 801 square feet or greater outdoor dining space
$5,400 in one-time funds

This grant program has been created by Frederick County Government (“FCG”) with funding provided under the Coronavirus Relief Fund, as established under the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”) CFDA # 21.019. By submitting this application, the applicant agrees that should it be awarded a grant, as Grantee it agrees as follows:
While financial information will be kept confidential, the names of businesses receiving grants, and the amount they receive, are public information and may be included in press releases issued by the County. It is possible that emergency grant funds may be reported as taxable income to the businesses. If awarded, grantees will receive a form 1099-G from Frederick County Government. Frederick County Government cannot provide tax advice and recommends that you consult with a tax professional if you have questions.
