VAC in the Community

  1. Public Law 116-23, (Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act 2019) was signed into law on June 25, 2019 and takes effect January 1, 2020. The law extends a presumption of herbicide exposure to Blue Water Navy Veterans who served in the Republic of Vietnam and the offshore waters. Blue Water Navy survivors, and certain dependents may be entitled to benefits if the Veteran was exposed. 
  2. DoD is expanding access to Commissaries, Exchanges, and Recreation effective January 1, 2020. Read more about it here.
  3. VA Claims assistance will be available at FSK AL Post 11, 1450 Taney Ave. in Frederick from 10 AM to 3 PM, on January 31 and February 1.  Don’t forget to bring your DD-214.

Veterans Resource & Recognition Day - Wednesday, July 10

Veterans Resource & Recognition Day: Exhibitors will share information about services and benefits for individual of all ages who have served in the armed forces, as well as family, caregivers, and others interested in our veterans. In addition, there will be exhibits, speakers, lunch catered by Palmtree Catering, a message center where participants can create a greeting card for a hospitalized veteran, and other activities.
