Amended Application Review Following the County Council's public hearing on a combined application on February 21, 2017, the Council voted to deny the combined application on March 7, 2017. The applicant requested a reconsideration of that decision and proposed to amend the application to split the three developments into separate applications for the Council to consider. On May 23, 2017 the Council voted to reconsider an amended application. An amended application was submitted on June 2nd and because it does not propose substantial changes from the combined application it will only be reheard by the County Council and will not go back to a Planning Commission review.
The amended application separates the three developments into individual cases that will be heard and voted on separately.
R-16-01(A) Villages of Urbana PUD- proposes to increase the total permitted dwellings in the PUD by 25 dwellings (3,013 to 3, 038) and to be constructed in the Market District area. This proposal represents a decrease in the number of new dwelling units requested - the original request was for an additional 75 dwellings.
R-16-01(B) Northern Town Center MXD - proposes to replace 26 acres of employment land use with residential while keeping the maximum permitted dwellings to 610.
R-16-01(C) Southern Employment MXD - proposes to rezone approximately 210 acres from ORI, LI, and RC to MXD and add to the Southern Employment MXD for residential use (age-restricted) or as an assisted living/nursing care facility.
