Electric TransIT Buses Ribbon Cutting

County Executive, Jan Gardner and County Council President, Bud Otis attended a Ribbon Cutting Celebration on May 5, 2016 for the unveiling of 4 of Frederick County TransIT's fully refurbished all electric buses. A 5th electric bus will be joining the fleet in June. The buses were refurbished and funded by the Federal Transit Administration, the Maryland Transit Administration, and Frederick County. They reduce air and noise pollution, and have the ability to run for 120 miles on a single charge. The electric buses are estimated to save the county $470,000 per year in fuel and maintenance costs. They are the first fully refurbished all electric buses to operate on the East coast!
