 Housing Choice Voucher Program to Open for Applications in Six Eastern Shore Counties on February 1, 2023

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development announced today that the Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting lists will be open for Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Somerset, Talbot, and Worcester counties.  Online applications will be accepted beginning at 9 a.m. on February 1, 2023, until 5 p.m. on February 28, 2023.  Preliminary applications must be submitted online at MD DHCD Waitlist Check.  Individuals with disabilities or others who need additional support may receive assistance completing a preliminary application by emailing dhcd.hcv@maryland.gov or calling 1-800-445-4340.  For more information, visit Rental Housing Assistance - Housing Choice Voucher Program.  

Maryland Homeowner Assistance Fund

Governor Larry Hogan announces opening of Maryland Homeowner Assistance Fund.  This fund will be administered by the MD Dept. of Housing & Community Development and will support mortgage relief, home repairs, housing counseling, and legal services.  For more information and to determine eligibility visit Maryland Homeowner Assistance Fund.


FREDERICK COUNTY COVID-19 EMERGENCY RECOVERY Rental Assistance - Frederick County Executive Jan Garner today announced a significant expansion to the County's COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program.  The expanded program is made possible through a partnership with the Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs.  Applications are now being accepted.  To apply online, visit www.rcehn.org/covid-emergency-rental-assistance.  Those without access to the internet may call 1-800-220-9528.  Questions about the program should be emailed to COVIDhelp@rcehn.org.
