Token Transit - TransIT’s Mobile Ticketing App


Purchase and store your TransIT bus passes using your smartphone with the Token Transit app.

Token Transit will offer you another great alternative to cash, while helping you board faster and easily manage your bus fare from your mobile device. Customers can enter payment information one time to purchase a variety of TransIT passes from anywhere! Passes can be purchased for immediate use, or if you’re planning ahead, they can be stored on Token Transit for future trips. 

How it Works:

  1. Download: "Token Transit" from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone). 
  2. Purchase: Select a fare type and then the pass type you’d like to purchase.
  3. Activate: When you are ready to ride, tap your pass to activate. All passes are stored in your Token Transit account. Remember, do not activate your pass until you see the bus approaching. Passes are only valid for one hour.  
  4. Ride: As you board the bus, show the driver your digital ticket. You’re good to go!

Fare Capping

Fare capping allows TransIT customers to have the opportunity to receive one of two bus pass upgrades once they spend beyond a specific cost threshold.

Day Pass: Customers who spend more than $4.00 on one-way trips in a day will automatically be upgraded to a one day pass in their app.

Monthly Passes: Reduced Fare customers who spend $30 on one-way trips, or General Public customers who spend $50 on one-way trips will have their fare converted to a monthly pass for the remainder of that 31 day period. Eligible customers for either fare cap will be notified via a text message when their expenditures make them eligible for a ticket upgrade.

RouteShout 2.0 - TransIT Connector Location App

Use RouteShout to locate your TransIT Connector in real time.

RouteShout, the automatic vehicle location system for TransIT Connectors, allows riders to locate their bus, see how long until the next bus arrives, and set system wide and route alerts if a Connector is running late. TransIT riders who do not have a smartphone are able to receive real time bus arrival updates to their phone by texting the unique stop ID, located on each Connector bus stop sign, to 25252. Unsure which bus stop is closest to your location? Select the "Locate Me" option for a full list of stops nearby. RouteShout will ease your TransIT commute and is simple to use:  

Simple App Instructions:

1. Download on your Apple or Android smart phone and open the app.
2. Select one of three options on the RouteShout home screen.

  • Where's My Bus? For the next arrival time at your stop.
  • Schedule for a list of scheduled stop times by route.
  • Locate Me to find nearby bus stops at your current location. 
3. If you've selected "Where's My Bus?" click on the Connector route you plan to board. 
4. Select your bus stop. Stops are listed in alphabetical order. 
5. Zoom in on the map to see where your bus currently is. Scroll down the page to see how many minutes until your bus arrives at your selected stop.

For Text Alerts: 
  1. Enter 25251 in the "to". 
  2. Type in the STOP ID located on the bus stop sign into the message body. 
  3. A response will be generated with the next arrival time at that stop.
