I was raised on a farm and value to this day the lessons I learned of hard work and the appreciation for the land that is entrusted to us. Just like many of you, my parents taught me the importance of common sense, honesty, helping my neighbors, dedication to family and faith, and treating people fairly. These values were the building blocks of the person who I have become.
I went to school, raised a family, worked for a business and became the president of the business with 350 employees. I volunteered for my community. I spent the last twelve years in a key role as Chief of Staff for our local Congressman. In Washington, I was successful in working with both Democrats and Republicans, in a respectful manner, despite the gridlock that offends us all.
I aim to be the voice of all my constituents, even those who chose not to vote for me. Many of you have asked what I can do to get things done in Winchester Hall. You have asked that I protect the interests of our most cherished senior citizens, help make the FCPS even better, and improve job creation. You have asked about the possibilities of attracting good companies and government agencies to Frederick County with higher paying jobs, so that the long commutes don’t rob us of the all-important family time. You have asked about training and education so that our citizens receive the best training to compete in the work force. I will work each and every day toward these goals. You have my word on it.
I hope that you will share some of your precious time with me in the near future so I can listen to what is important to you. Your issues are my issues.
