Overview

Frederick County is located in the north central part of Maryland with square miles of rolling mountains, flat river valleys, bubbling streams, and bright green pastures. Frederick County has been harvesting revenues in agriculture longer than any other industry. Today, Frederick County is home to 1,300 farms and more than 181,500 acres of farmland.
