Pearre Road Findings and Recommendations

The Roads Board consists of a five member appointed board, plus a Frederick County Council liaison. Please see the Roads Board Boundaries Map for Roads Board districts.

The Roads Board provides advice and recommendations to the Division of Public Works, the Office of Transportation Engineering,  the Office of Highway Operations, and the County Executive. The Roads Board welcomes public input regarding county maintained roads and bridges.

Please direct Roads Board issues or agenda requests, to Jason Stitt, Office of Transportation Engineering email. It is recommended that one inform the Roads Board sufficiently in advance of the meeting to get an item on the agenda.  In this manner, one or more Roads Board members, and/or county staff, may have an opportunity to visit the site in advance of the meeting.

Rural Roads Petition Update

After reviewing public comments and staff recommendations regarding two Rural Road Petitions, the County Executive has decided:

  • Harley Road will be removed from the Rural Roads Program and entirely stabilized with tar and chips.
  • Dahlgren Road will stay in the Rural Roads Program, but the existing tar and chip surface will be extended approximately 1090 feet.
