Programs
The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Frederick County provides a comfortable, private, child-friendly, multi-cultural setting that is both physically and psychologically safe for clients. The CAC's protocols were written using the National Children's Alliance (NCA) Standards.
Organizational Capacity
The CAC is a department within the Citizens Services Division. The CAC was created by Maryland Family Law Code 5-706 to provide a written agreement between partnering agencies.

Forensic Interviews
Forensic interviews are conducted in a manner which are of a neutral, fact-finding nature, and coordinated to avoid duplicative interviewing, utilizing the RATAC protocol for forensic interviewing.

Medical Evaluation
Specialized medical evaluation and treatment is made available as part of the Interagency Response Team at the CAC or through referral to FMH SAFE program.

Therapeutic Intervention
Specialized mental health services are made available as part of the Interagency Response Team, at the CAC or through referral to Heartly House, Inc. or other local providers.

Victim Support/Advocacy
Victim support and advocacy is available as part of the Interagency Response Team at the CAC throughout the investigation and possible subsequent legal proceedings.

Case Review
The Interagency Response Team discusses and shares information regarding investigation, case status, and services needed by the child and family on a routine basis to meet the needs of the victim and family.
