Medicare and Medigap Workshops
To register call 301-600-1605  Space is limited!  All workshops start at 9:30 a.m.
Workshops will be held at the Department of Aging, 1440 Taney Ave., Frederick, MD 21702
    Combined Medicare/Medigap Workshop: May 15, May 22, June 12, June 19

Mobile Information and Assistance (I&A)
The team from Md Food Bank, Energy Assistance and the DoA will visit each senior center monthly to provide information, answer questions and complete applications for SNAP (food stamps), Energy Assistance, and Medicare Subsidies.  Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins will be welcome.  
For the month of May Mobile I&A will feature Legal Aid: Wills & Probate: What you need to know
May 7- Frederick; May 8 - Urbana; May 16 - Emmitsburg; May 24 - Brunswick

2013 Events

“There’s A Doctor In The House” is held the second Wednesday of each month, 5:00-7:00pm. A light dinner is available for $5.00 beginning at 5:00, with the program beginning immediately after dinner. Please call 301-600-1048 to make reservations for a meal and /or program. On May 8 Acupuncturist Claudia Olsen will discuss and demonstrate the benefits of Acupuncture as a complement to traditional medicine.  

Awareness, Advocacy and Action Workshop: Guarding Against Elder Abuse, Scams and Fraud, Tuesday, May 21 at the Emmitsburg Senior Center.  Register today!

Silver Ribbon Series 
The Frederick County Department of Aging and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Silver Ribbon Series. These informative sessions are based around elder abuse and public safety concerns. Seniors, caretakers, professionals, and community members are invited to attend this free series being offered June 10-14, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. at the Department of Aging, 1440 Taney Avenue, Frederick.
