Fourth Grade Field Trip 

Program DescriptionsButterfly

*The Environment
Teaches students the interactions and survival skills of organisms living in different environments.

  • Program Length: 1 1/2 hours
  • Class Size: 10 - 75 students (with some flexibility)
  • Chaperones Required: One chaperone per 15 students
  • These classes meet the following Maryland curriculum standards: SC.400.10.02, SC.400.30.01, 02, 04, 05, 06; SC.400.60.01, 02, 03

Scorpion*Water Resources
encourages students to explore a local stream and learn about the unique adaptations animals have to live in this dynamic ecosystem. Discussion topics will include: important benefits of streams, riparian buffers, and wetlands.

  • Program Length: 1 1/2 hours
  • Class Size: 10 - 25 students
  • Chaperones Required: One chaperone per 15 students, two for 25 students
  • These classes meet the following Maryland curriculum standards: SC.400.10.02, SC.400.30.01, 02, 04, 05, 06; SC.400.60.01, 02, 03

*In-School Presentations
These programs are available as in-school presentations. These include: live animal presentations and interactive nature activities. The program fee will include the cost of the program plus a $50 transportation fee.
