The cost of the permit is $15.00, and it is good for the entire calender year, with the exception of the summer months.  A burn ban is instituted every summer from June 1st through and including August 31st, due to ozone concerns, and is always lifted on September 1st.  If you choose to purchase a burn permit at any time after the burn ban has been lifted, the permit will only be good until the end of that calendar year.
