Overview
The spring on the property releases up to 3.25 million gallons of water per day which is thought to be one of the strongest springs in Maryland. It maintains a constant temperature of 54 degrees Fahrenheit year round.
The water is utilized in a small rainbow trout fishing pond that spills into a wet meadow area. The Department of Natural Resources stocks the pond periodically with trout.
Visitors
Park visitors may fish here year round. However, the following requirements must be followed:
- A consolidated license is required for those over 65.
- Visitors aged 16 - 65 must have a valid Maryland fishing license and trout stamp.
- Visitors are allowed to catch two fish per day per person.
