Food and Laundry
Responsibilities
A Registered Dietitian oversees kitchen and laundry operations. The Dietitian is responsible for ensuring compliance with standards set forth by the American Correctional Association, the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, the Health Department, and other regulating agencies.
The Food Services Staff not only prepare meals for the inmate population but also support the community by providing food to three routes of the Meals on Wheels program.
Kitchen staff consists of one supervisor and five cooks. Inmate workers are used to assist with meal preparation and delivery, inventory, and clean up. There are also two inmates assigned to the laundry.
