Frederick County is committed to identifying and preserving the rich historic and cultural resources of the unincorporated areas of the county. Frederick County's landmarks and historic districts enhance the County's unique identity and quality of life.
Historic Preservation staff will be working with the community to update the County’s 2007 Historic Preservation Plan. We hope to have a final plan adopted by July 2026 that reflects the evolving needs and priorities of our community, ensuring that historic preservation efforts remain relevant, effective, and inclusive.
Frederick County worked with Mesick Cohen Wilson Baker Architects to complete a historic structures report (HSR) on this property.

Frederick County Council adopted Bill No. 24-01 as amended, “Updates and Additions to the Historic Preservation Ordinance” on April 16, 2024. The adopted bill went into effect on June 15, 2024 and can be viewed here.
The Peace & Plenty Rural Historic District is the first area within Maryland to be designated a rural historic district.
