Long-Term Waste Management
In 2009, after more than 5 years of evaluating long-term waste management options, a majority of the Frederick and Carroll Boards of County Commissioners voted to enter into agreements with the Proposed Waste-to-Energy Facility Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority (NMWDA) to develop a 1,500 ton per day waste-to-energy facility.

Information regarding this regional project can be found on the NMWDA website and fact sheet.

The facility will work in combination with waste reduction and recycling as a long-term solution to our waste management needs.
